Update: Anne of Green Gables (2016)

anneofgreengables2016danneofgreengables2016c

As announced, some more pics of this nice movie which has been aired at Christmas.

There are 2 girls being pulled at their pigtails. Also one blonde. And another angle of the redhaired Anne (rear view pulling, see main entry).

I think also some few more girls at school in pigtails or braids. Also in sailor dresses.

The 2017 movie starring Amybeth McNulty also coming soon.

Update: Kidsongs

kidsongs-maryhadalittlelambkidsongs-adayatcamp

I only own one DVD but found some more girls in pigtails in other clips. But in total rather few pigtails scenes.

Pic 1 showing a blonde girl in pink bib overalls in “Mary Had a Little Lamb”. Another pic on my overalls blog. Also a girl in “Baby Animal Songs” and host in Kidsong TV (Western blog).

Pic 2 another blonde girl in a thick braid in “A Day at Camp” (also doing a wheelbarrow excercise).

Unbraided pigtails in “Baby Animal Songs” and Meet the Biggles, partly older girls.

Now also on my shiny shorts blog including girls.

Main entry here rating 6 at (also check out my overalls, blog rating 8)

Update 4: The Waltons

waltons-s2waltons-s2b

Next to the main characters, I also found Sissy Spacek, around 23 yo in pigtails as pregnant Sarah in s2e2 (pic 1) and another teen girl as Indian with a black wig at a stage play (season 2 as well).

I like Sissy Spacek, often playing nice farm movies and sometimes wearing bib overalls.

Main entry, rating 10 (Elizabeth, Mary-Ellen and Erin)

Info: Cologne Carnival

kinderstunk-und-ziegenbart-2008

At the carnival, especially in Cologne, there are very often women, (teen) girls and some men (Dreigestirn: Jungfrau, traditionally played by men, except the kids, Kinderdreigestirn there are real girls) wearing very long pigtails. Either dark or blonde. Not sure about boys. Some pigtails might be wigs, but most are probably real pigtails.

There are different characters. First, Tanzmariechen, then Jungfrau, Bärbelchen (blonde) and maybe some more. And of course the costumes like Pippi Longstocking.

Currently, I don’t have better pics, so I use this pic from my overalls blog (Kinderstunk und Ziegenbart 2008), Kinderstunksitzung (rating 4).

Tanzmariechen usually dancing and doing acrobatics and the pigtails often flipping or hanging upside down.

Update: This year I watched carefully to the pigtails. Most (except for the wigs) pigtails are at the back of the head instead of the sides. I wonder if they are somehow attached with pins, needles or braces or just plaited. Maybe it’s a rather modern way of plaiting. And sometimes one pigtail is at the front (shoulder) and the other on the back. Not sure if this is on purpose or by coincidence. Probably rather a coincidence, at least when dancing.

Update 3: The Waltons – Elizabeth

waltons-s7u3a

In season 7, 13 yo Elizabeth wearing shorter but thick pigtails and medium blue bib overalls. Pic at 2h22 on disc 3 ep 11 (12 in Germany). Also shown completetly front+rear.

Another good scene at 2h57.

More infos and pic, also of earlier episodes on my bib overalls blog.

Main entry and some separate posts here, rating 10 (including younger Elizabeth and others like Erin and Mary Ellen) at

Update: Chiquititas (1995)

chiquititasep138

One more pic of this original Argentinian series. Pic from 1998 ep 138 (Chiquititas 98) showing 2 older darkhaired girls. Not sure if these are just shoulder braids or 2 pigtails. At least nice long braids.

Great series, main entry rating 6

Also on my bib overalls blog rating 3.

Chiquititas Brasil (1997) also coming soon.

Next entry in January.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my readers!
